Hello, I'm looking into purchasing a Open Range 2410RL Ultra-lite. The dealership that I'm looking at has both, a 2017 and a 2018 in stock. Can anyone tell me the difference in the two. What changed if anything from a 2017 to a 2018. Thank You

One thing you might want to ask about is the change in warranty
coverage between the two year models--
the 2017 has 2 year full coverage
2018 changes to 1 year full coverage and 3 years structural/frame coverage

see this thread--

We were NOT aware of that, the dealer hasn't mentioned it neither. Thanks for the info. That's is a big deal to me.

Biggest difference also outside the warranty is they made the 50 amp service a mandatory option; added a battery disconnect switch( there is one on mine 2018). Made the ladder a standard option also. They discontinued offering the TV in the bedroom as an option.
I think those were the main items.

Ok, thanks for those updates. The warranty is not going to be the deal breaker, I still believe they are good solid units from what I've been able to see and tell.

I just purchased a 2804RK Ultra Lite, I was told that 15BTU AC is standard now versus 13.5 and also 30 lb. propane tanks are standard as well for 2018.

Thanks for the info. Yes with us doing most of our camping in Florida we need a good A/C unit. It gets hot down here. We are still looking, going to pull the trigger by the end of the month. So far we are leaning towards the Open Range. I have a couple other brands to look at prior tho.

My 2018 2410RL also came with a solar port connection. The baggage doors are inset as opposed to overlapping. Here's a link to a thread on the forums with more explanation.

Also, I posted a pic in the owners photo gallery recently.

Thanks for the update, so all the compartment doors will all have the new design now? Did I read that you took a bunch of measurements? Could you tell me the overall length from the front of the hitch to the back of the spare tire or which ever is sticking out the farthest. I need to make sure I can get in in my driveway. thank you

TT is in storage and I can't give you the total length today, but I would guesstimate it won't go over 29'. I just received my Andersen hitch and will be bringing it home next week to set it up. I will measure it then. I found a listing on RV Trader that has over 100 pics and accurately represents how they are being built now.

50 amp service is nice - I think all models should have 50 amps. Don't have to worry what I am running together.

The 2410RL's total length including the rear mounted tire is 29'. Without the tire it is 28'3" from the tongue couple to the rear bumper. Got the Andersen WD hitch installed and took it for a spin around the neighborhood. Had no issues with installation as nothing was in the way to mount the brackets to the frame. Didn't have to make any chain adjustments. Must say I was happy it took the bounce out of the ride.
