Highland Ridge has determined that 2016 Ultra Lite Travel Trailers require silicon sealant placed around the sides of the exterior range vent to make certain water cannot enter the trailer at this location.

Anyone else receive this notification, and thinking about performing the required repairs themselves? In my case the nearest dealer is hundreds of miles away.

I am waiting on a reply from Highland Ridge, to see what type of silicon sealant is recommended and if there are any warranty concerns if I perform the required repairs myself. Hopefully, I will hear back from them soon.

Talked to Highland Range, Customer Service this morning and was advised under the conditions of this notification, if you are not located near a dealer, it is acceptable to perform the service using a high grade silicon or butyl sealant.

I bought mine new in March 2016. I received the service bulletin in April. Since you guys got yours in December, why didn't the dealer take care of this before I took delivery? Anyway, I looked at the vent and it has plenty of sealant squeezing out of it. I really don't know what they are talking about.

Ask them to send you a tube, chances are they will.
