Problems with rear shade, wont raise over 6 inches sithout fabric buckling and messing up the creases. If less tension does it even worse and will not stay up, more tension it raises the 6 inches and buckles. Fixable, bad shade, or just a cheap shade? Thanks for any ideas.

I usually reset the pleats to be able to continue to raise the shade. I always have to use two hands to keep the bottom level as I raise the shade. My dining room shade raises without problem, even when I use one hand. Don't know why the difference. I guess I haven't cared enough to take the time to figure out why.

I do not like the shades in our unit. 3 have already failed after only owning the unit since August. They are flimsy and seem cheap.

I don't think the shades are that flimsy, atleast in mine. I think it's an installation issue. I have to use 2 hands to put most of the shades up or they are crooked. Already broke one string which hubby repaired. I can't say how hard of a repair it was cause I wasn't home to hear the @&$)(;: coming out of the trailer. I came home from shopping to find it worked great.

We are not crazy about the shades either. The long ones were a pain. We had to use two people, manually using our fingers to make the crease as we lifted to get it all the way up. The good news is that they get better the more times we did it and now they can be lifted by one person and fold correctly... most of the time.

Budget Blinds did a great job replacing ALL our blinds 2 + years ago. Well worth the $ to not restring one more blind!

Problem is the cord. The outer covering has come away from the inner 'string' and the pleats get stuck when the outer cover bunches up. Have replace the string in several of mine.

We replaced all our shades with 1" vinyl mini blinds from Menard's, they were from $5 to $10 per window.

i hate these shades. The cord attachment/tension knob at the bottom is just screwed into the paneling. The first time i tried to tension the cord so the shade would stay up it ripped out of the wall with only a 1/4" long screw holding (no longer) it in place. Another stupid design flaw.

We are currently replacing our shades with MCD roller day/night shades. They are fantastic. We have replaced about half of them. Sooooo much nicer than the accordion shades. The long old shades required two people and still got all messed up when you push them up. Now it is the flick of a wrist and release them and up they go, slow and smooth. Pulling them down is also a breeze.
