I installed a 2nd 12 volt battery from day one. More of a peace of mind thing than anything else.
I do wonder if some of the slide and auto level issues are the result of low voltage.
My systems work better when plugged in and I have 2 batteries.
Running those systems continually on just a single battery may cause headaches.

I boondock mistly so i use 4 12 volt batteries from a server backup setup. A local place sells then used for 50 bucks each. I can use the tv and heater for 4 days no problem. You can never have too many batteries. I only need a gen for microwave or ac. The batteries are totally sealed and can be mounted at any angle.
