We have a 2018 347RES. Slide 3 the (biggest one) goes out smoothly but when bringing it in it seems to resist coming in and then kind of jumps in. Smooth after that. It's at the dealer for it's first warranty visit (hopefully last, LOL). I've asked them to look at it.

I'll let you know what we find out. Please tell us what you find.

Good luck,

Jerry

Hi Jerry, sounds like the same problem we're having. Be glad to hear back from you. Will let you know what we find out from our dealer. This is our first warranty issue too and I'm sure we won't have any other problems. Ha Ha

If that slide has the aluminum wedge at the bottom, maybe need to lube it. Lift the carpet or vinyl floor in front of the slide, see if an alum wedge there. Have to pull slide in maybe a foot. If you haven't heard, some of us mentioned "getting up over the hump".

Try beeswax, or dry teflon lubrication. I applied the dry teflon stuff, seems to make it slide down or up, over that wedge. OR/HR would say no need to lube it, but use your own judgement.

Could use grease, but beware, may attract dirt, leave some grease stains on flooring. Some models have a short piece carpet in front, on floor of slide border.

Good luck! Stay dry.

The motors have to work harder to get the slides lifted up so it can slide in (over the hump). What I do to help eliminate any problem is I always help by pushing when going in or out, more especially when going in. My wife pushes the button and I do my morning stretch against the outside.

Att: rv dad (Jerry) Took our camper in today and could not get it to bind like it has been doing , so we left it at the dealers. They are going to leave the slides open for a few days and then try to pull the slides in and see if they bind. After talking We feel that the floor of the slide and the floor of the camper are sticking together, they both have a nylon covering on them. If that is the case we will have to use a dry lube on it. Its like when you don't open the camper window for along time it will stick and then all of a sudden pop loose when turning the knob to open. They are going to call me on Saturday. I'll let you know what happened.

No news on ours yet. Stopped at the dealer yesterday and it was in a shop bay. (Good news is it was the bay of their best tech). He was still working on the refrigerator problem. They haven't been able to get through to HR to get answers on the replacement we were told was approved.

So they haven't started checking the slide issue yet. Stay tuned.

When you are bringing the slide in is the OR still level or have you raised the jacks?
I was told that the unit should be level before you open or close the slides.

Hi Doc , yes the or is level when we pull the slides in . When we took it to the dealer the slide was put out and pulled back in while hooked to the truck and it did not bind . So we leveled it off the truck and the slides would bind a little . So we left it with the slides open to see if they seat after being left open for a few days. The dealer is checking it today. I'll let you know what they find. (it was binding bad that's why we took it in.)

Hi Jerry ,got the o/r back today . They said the new slides have a coating sprayed on the flooring of the slide to protect it from water dmg . and I had some build up .They put some dry lube on it. So I'll see if that works.

Have a 2014 274RLS. Both slide gear motors had to be replaced within the original warranty period. This month the larger slide would not retract well at a RV resort. Contacted a mobile repair guy who was able to get the slide in. (Oh, if your wondering I had already tried pushing it back in & removed the interior facia to get to the gear motor to retract in manually, no luck.) Got it back to dealership for repair. It's been there for over a couple weeks now. After calling them, to find out the status they advised that the extened warranty would cover another gear box. BUT, the reason the gear box failed is the lip of the slide is scrunched up in a couple spots, not allowing it to retract! They called the company that supplies the slide outs and advised that the fix would be to have a piece of sheet metal installed on the front lip of the slide. Now I'm told HOLD ON FOR THIS ONE - that is a structural problem and not covered under the Extended Warranty! Now I'm looking at a $1,000.00 bill to get my RV out of their clutches. The sad part to this whole experience is that frustration of never knowing when & where I'll be at when this happens again.

Don, you might try to video the slide and the binding and noise it makes for you and not at the dealers. Won't cost anything and might help them with diagnostics

I thank you for the input. I talked to a tech at accu- slide and he walked me through a few test and we feel that it is the sticky stuff on the slide floor. after the slide is out for a few days the floor bonds and has to break loose to pull it back in. So the dealer has to find a way to get rid of the sticky stuff .(we hope we have found the problem and that will solve it .)I'll let you know what the outcome is when we take it in on nov.ninth .

One of my slides was binding and I took it to the dealer were they adjusted it to work properly. I never thought that would be an issue when considering a travel trailer but I guess it is. At least they fixed it.

Well we got ours back from the dealer. They said they couldn't find anything wrong with the slide. We brought it home before putting it into winter storage and when we put the slide in it did not have the same issue. I was leaving town and so I couldn't leave it out longer or try it a few more times.

Of course once is not proof of anything. We'll have to wait for March and see what happens then.
