You going to get a new hitch or see about bigger bars?

Well after two weeks of searching Ive found a '14 SRW F350 Platinum w/56k miles on it that Ill own come Monday afternoon. Came out a touch ahead on a super clean truck after the trade. Almost feel like I stole it. All the duallies I found were 3-5k more so the dually seach halted fairly quickly. Now to do something about the P3 hitch.

Diesel or 6.2? Whats the GVWR?

6.7L PSD and has the 11.5k GVWR package

New hitch since Shawn has told me he cant do heavier than 1400#. Plus I can see already that heavier bars would create more issues with the WD jacks. Just as it is raising the jack up to 7-7.5" the hooks welded on the WD jacks have bent parallel to the ground.

Very nice truck!
Just curious though about the ProPride, do you really need a heavier hitch now that you don't have to transfer so much weight?

Im going bigger as a precaution plus I can recover some of the money invested in it vs. any other setup. I suspect the new truck will pull this trailer with little to no issue just like the Excursion did.

:like Nice truck. I'm sort of thinking like Soleman. I'm sure there are $$$ to be gained by selling the hitch, But since you already own it and it is the very best hitch give it a whirl. I assume you used the PP when you towed with your X.
Glad to hear you found a decent resolution :like

No, with the X I used a straight 2 5/16 ball. No sway or WD and Pulled like a dream.

So update... Still experience the same issues! Albiet its not as pronounced as it was in the lighter F150. I swear the head of the P3 is shifting left/right while driving down the road. Any cross winds and it just becomes a nightmare. I had a lengthy discussion with Sean Woodruff and I made adjustsments to the stinger based on his recommendations but Im not holding my breath its gonna be better.

I had an issue once simular to what you described and found that the yoke bar had shifted to one side. To check this while unhitched just stand directly in front of the hitch and you'll see if it's off center.
I was also "nose high" which made it worse.

Have you had the trailer axle alignment checked?

Sounds to me like you might want to trade the TT on a fiver. Hooked up to that F350, problem solved..., permanently.

Can you disconnect the pro hitch and just tow it with regular ball? That truck should handle that trailer without even using weight distribution just to try it.

Big, Something is going on there. You have a more than capable truck now, you should not be having any problems that would make your experience scary. I will say this, that a trailer that long will make any truck sway a little bit but nothing that should not be manageable. My friends and I have almost the same length trailer and we went camping last year, the winds were blowing very hard and when we got to our destination I told them that my 308 was pushing my 150 around pretty good and my buddy in his 350 said he was going to stop and wait till the winds died down as he felt it was dangerous being all over the road with his family in his truck, so I didn't feel that bad after that conversation.

Ive had the yoke slide once and I corrected it and in the process broke a U bolt by over torquing it. Sean sent me two new ones and two spares. No issues since on that but I do think I was probably nose high after the most recent discussion with Sean. TBD on the next trip in two weeks.
