I have a 2015 Ford F-350 diesel with a 80 gal transflow fuel tank in the bed behind the cab. The tank has a pump and fill hose like at a gas station is there any way that any one knows of to hook this tank up so that the main truck tank can be filled while going down the road.

I just put in a RDS tank past weekend in an F350, diesel only. RDS makes a kit to have it flow into your fuel fill pipe and it was really easy although I had to cut off more thant the 1 and half of fuel fill hose. It is about $85 from Amazon or northern tool. It will only work if you have a low point drain on your aux tank or you go with the electric pump to fill as you go. Probably took less than 30 minutes.

I just installed a gravity fed RDS tank in my 2014 RAM 3500. Its a 60 gallon tank. So far I love it. Don't need any of the pumps others sell.

For those looking for filler neck kit or tank, try here for best price.
http://www.unionhydro.com/Auxiliary_Tra ... _s/67.htma

Just beware of price to motor freight ship the tank to your final destination.

Also beware of fuel hose type used. I recall the SAE30R9 number for hoses in diesel fuel, but not all hoses equal, good for the green diesel fuel. For diesel fuel use, think "30R9 fuel injection hose", and not the common variety gasoline or fuel hose you might find at auto parts store. Do your research on hoses for diesel fuel use. Wrong hose expect the rubber to soften, and seepage occur over time.

Since RDS ships hose with the filler neck kit, can only assume it is right choice. But if numbers on the hose, do check it for qualification for diesel fuel use. The hose I got did not have any numbers, prob due to "bulk" order by them.

I chose to use 3/8" ID hose in lieu of the 5/16" ID hose the RDS kits comes.

Ask me how I know bout em hoses.

Hose info - this is Goodyear products, but others out there with SAE30R9 marks - http://www.veyance.com/ProductsDetail.aspx?id=5144

I got an aux tank at ATTA in Ft Worth. Love it. Think they would sell/install just the pump.
Comes on when regular tank is 1/3, pumps it up to about 3/4.

Try Northern Tool they sale RDS tanks and have them in stock, I have one about 6 miles from my house. The have a 60 gallon tank with a tool box for $679, a 51 gallon with tool box for $629, a 49 gallon tank for $439, a 90 gallon tank for $469 and the manual feed is another $69.

Mickey those are the same tanks as at Northern Tools RDS and about the same prices but Northern has over 85 stores in central and southern States, even 5 in Houston area and 7 around DFW.

Know that, Davis.

At the time I brought mine, some 3 yrs ago, Union had so much better price for both tank and the filler neck kit. Even with freight from Fla. where RDS plant is located. There is a Northern Tools store less than 5 miles from my home. But they did not have a vertical 45 gal tank I wanted. Northern wanted maybe $30 more for the filler neck kit.

I offered them to match it but they would not. So.....

Stay warm.

Bought my 60 gal RDS tank/toolbox combo unit from Amazon via Northern. Was the cheapest way to go, including shipping.
The kit to hook the tank up to the filler neck (gravity feed) works well enough, although adding a transfer pump would speed up the process.
If I remember correctly, RDS sells two filler kits, depending on your model of truck.

I looking at the Dee Zee 38 gal from Amazon since I am a prime member the shipping is free and the install kit from the link Mickey provided is the least expensive I've seen. The tank and install kit would be less than 400.00 and would give me 72 gal on board.
I'd be a happy camper

Awesome call, Jim. Which one are you looking at? I set my sights on this one, but the reviews are split...

Double check your dimensions if you want your tonneau cover to cover your tanks. Often the measurements provided to not provide for the filler neck. Just an fyi.

I'm looking at the same one the reviews didn't say anything about the function of the tank being deficient just that the carrier beat it up during delivery and that the finish was not very good. Just don't want a leaker. I also am adding a filter system to my truck that has a 2 micron Cat filter so Hopefully I don't have to replace my pump and Injectors like my buddy did to the tune of more than 2 grand. check out this link http://www.dieselfuelfilterkits.com/ They started just making this kit for Dodge trucks and now you can get it for all the big 3.

X2 on ATTA. I have a tool box/ fuel tank combo and it just fills up halfway. Don't have to press any buttons or do anything. It has a fuel gauge for the tank as well.
