OK, this is gonna sound like a dumb question. I'm looking for a universal gas pump, yup the ones like in the auto store. Trouble is I look and they just don't seem like the one? Don't ask. I'm wanting something good quality transfer pump. From one of my 5 gallon cans to the neck of the truck. Darn things are getten to heavy to hold up.

I picked up a 12 volt transfer pump from Murdocks western store to pump diesel. I had to return it due to a bad "O" ring. I don't know if it was rated for gas or not. I think it was about $170. I replaced it with a hand pump. I use a 55 gal drum so the hand pump screwed into the top of the barrel.

Budgie. I here what your saying about weight. I have a Honda 2000 that is 45 Lbs. When not camping I use the Honda at our cabin. I am having a harder time each year lifting it over the rail of the truck. Regarding the fuel tank. I would like to find one that is only 6 to 12 inches high and holds about 10 to 20 gallons and would gravity drain into my tank. Don't need a lot of extra fuel because after 3 hours in the truck I am slow at getting out. Just enough fuel to get me to the next low priced fuel.

The tanks are out there. It's just gas and California. Northern Tools had a great tank just wouldn't ship to ca. I'm just looking at something to move it from 5 gal can to truck, emergency, don't mind stopping and stretching legs. I found one but too much $$$$. I remember mounting them on the firewall of my hot rods. O well, gives me something to do in the evening.

This would fit under my across the bed tool box. Next thing I'll look at is marine full tanks

Burgie, you could easily cobble this together.

Use a typical aftermarket inline fuel pump, look at Summit or Jegs. Don't spend over $35. Connect that to a switched, fused 12V source. Leave the inlet connected to a long piece of fuel rated hose, and have the other end either dump into the filler neck, or T into the vapor return line. Probably best to just dump into the filler to avoid issues affecting the emissions system.

If your pumping with12 volt you can get an RV plug and use the 12 volt charge line with ground as long as a power source with a inline switch as long as it doesn't pull over 5 amps it should work

Ok folks, at Orielys auto and the 45$ pump would do about 4-10 gal hour. Need a little more. Those started at $100. I've looked and that seems to be the norm?

Fit under my tool box and gravity flow to my OEM tank.installed $485, which includes the kit to route it thru the filler neck and a hose for venting the tank thru the OEM tank. Having it done Wednesday next week!

I ended up with a small in line pump and filter, fills the Honda just great!
