Hello all!

Although I have had my 2012 Open Range Rolling Thunder H397RGR for almost one year, I just joined this forum. One of the reason I joined is that my OR has spent over 3 months of its first year in the shop, most recently with it's third fuel station and now a cracked frame. I am hoping other members can assist me with some of these issues I am experiencing.

Looking forward to spending a lot of time on the forum in between trips.

Welcome to the forum.

Good luck with the fuel station I am also down for the 3rd time on the fuel station and out of warranty. This time it is not the pump it is the control panel. The dealer replaced them both twice under warranty. I can bypass the control panel and run the pump. I am thinking I may just install a switch. I have never placed ethanol in the tank so I should not have the swollen gears and I have also always placed a 16oz can of seafoam in the tank when I fill it. I have been told not to run the genset on ethanol. I do not run any of the ATV's on ethanol anyway. I am really tired of working on the fuel situation. It has been a real PITA.

Welcome to the forum. Cracked frame sounds like a real PITA. Please post your experience with getting it resosolve. You will find a few topics on frame issues here, so perhaps that will help speed the repair.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you are having some pretty large issues. I hope you are able to get them resloved, and stop the re-occurance of the fuel station issue.

Sounds like maybe instead of reaplcing with same stuff - maybe there is some different design that can be used instead? I am not really familiar with the fuel station, so not sure what all is involved.

Good Luck!

I picked up the trailer from the dealer yesterday after having the most recent round of repairs made. The technician said that the fuel pumps on the fuel station use nylon gears and that after fuel hits them for the first time, the gears swell and it locks up the pump. I was told by my technician that he removed the gears and filed them down and now everything is fine. He tried it over several days and I also tried it when I picked it up yesterday and it appears to be working as it should. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Welcome to the forum. Nylon 6-6 will swell from any moisture. Gas with ethanol in it is a bad actor because the ethanol makes the gas absorb water. They should have used a polycaprolactam type of nylon with does not swell in water, or an acetal like Delrin or Celcon. You have to know a lot of things to make a product that will work well in all cases.

I was told at CHR the troubles with the fuel station was the reason they stopped making the toy haulers.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear that you are having so many problems. You can get some good info here. You may find that some of your issues are common with the year of your OR and OR is good at helping resolve common problems.
