Gosh I have never been so confused with all the information out there. I really do need some advise on what I can tow with my truck. The 371mbh has hitch weight of 2500 lbs and dry weight of 12,500 lbs. I have air bags installed and GMC reports that the max fifth wheel towing is 13,500 lbs with max cargo of 2513 lbs.

Am I way out to lunch thinking the 2017 2500hd duramax diesel can tow the 37mbh ?

In order to better assist you, could you provide your EXACT tow rig configuration/setup? Also include modifications you have made to the vehicle (tires, lift, etc). Thanks.

Example;
4x4
auto or manual
extended cab or quab cab
long bed or short bed
Denali
5th wheel hitch make and model
type of airbags; manual or auto - oem installed or aftermarket

The GVW of the 371 is 16470 Just the dry pin weight 2500 is equal to the cargo capacity of your truck 2513. In short the unloaded trailer exceeds the cargo rating of your truck. You still need to add passenger weight, cargo weight in the truck and cargo weight in the trailer.
You will exceed your ratings

In my opinion, a 3/4 ton is not enough truck to tow the 371. As Lantley stated, the trailer itself, unloaded will exceed your trucks cargo rating. Keep in mind that the dry weight of the trailer does not include full propane tanks, batteries, ect. Once you add camping gear and whatnot to the trailer you will most likely be well over 13k
