I had a flat with my brand new tires and stems last week driving thru the open desert in Southern California. I'm glad I had the TST TPMS510 on my wheels to allow me to safety pull over and not damage the tire.
This time I had Discount Tire replace all my 5 of my wheels with steel valve stems I think they are rated at 110 or 120psi. They charged me about $35 for all 5 wheels (spare).
I was afraid that the TPMS sensors might wobble a little on the rubber valve stems causing them to wear a spot and leak.

Purty. And shiny. One of the first upgrades I did to the beast. One of the gaskets was installed wrong and six hours into the initial ten hour tour I started to lose pressure. Mr. Tire somewhere in North Carolina off 95 bailed us out.

Mark don't say that, I had enough bad luck this past weekend, flat tire, scorpion in the house bathroom waiting for us and our AC in the house went out when it was 114 degrees.
I thought someone was going to mention how dirty my wheel was : )
I just bought the Andersen Rapid Wheel Jack, 2 hard start capacitors for the RV AC's, a new compact Zero-G water hose for the gray tank, new steel valve stems, more storage totes for the pass-thru storage area.
I'm going to be busy my next trip out : )

Good Lord, earl. You're going to tie Lantley in no time in the 'RV Accessory Overload' category!

Earl don't pay them any attention. I understand you needed all that stuff.
The water would not flow properly with that old white hose! Zero G was the only way to go!
It's all very logical to me.

I had a cheap plastic hose that had a lots of kinks and was hard to roll up in a plastic tote. Besides I didn't like the color : )

Earl, we learn the hard Way!
After I brought TST stem mounted sensors I asked if ok with the OEM rubber valve stems. TST said they have no records of failures of rubber stems. OK. I go for it.

But on trip to CHR, after initial install, I was walking about our trailer and saw something suspicious. Black circular marks on the rims! Well, well, the rubber stems were bending from centrifugal force, and back of those sensor housings was rubbing on the rim. Wow. What do I do now? Truth is I did nothing. Figured coming 1,500 miles, no failure, kept going. To home. Made it home, but had stems changed to full metal types.

Glad you change those stems. Others have had similar failures.

When we first got into the TT, I went thru the "have to have it" period. I'm now the proud owner of more worthless accessories than imaginable. Haha :cfire

I think I will buy the repeater for my TST TPMS510, I don't like the extended wired antenna. I have to run a cable from the back seat up to the dash, it's one more cable I don't need to deal with.

Hard to believe they don't have enough range to get from the axles of a 35' 5'ver, to the drivers seat of a short bed truck. The distance can't be over 30ft or so.

I have like A 7FT wired "T" antenna, its suppose to placed on the inside back window but the wire won't reach all the way to the monitor on my dash. I attached the antenna to the back of my wife's headrest and the wire reaches to the bottom of my dash where I have the monitor attached with velcro to the console. I have to look down at it taking my eyes off the road. It was hard to see but I figured out how to keep the lit display on all the time. I rather have the repeater because I think it's wireless and most people keep it in the glove box out of the way.

Likely due to a compromise in the design between battery life vs transmit range.
The other problem is that each transmitter is right next a large metal object (the rim) and
depending on wheel orientation when the sensor transmits, the rim may be between the transmitter and receiver.

A repeater close to the sensors that has a steady 12V source is the ideal solution.

I looked on the TST web site and sin't see any repeaters for sell. I told them my wired 7ft antenna is too short and they said they would send me a longer one. I received another 7ft wired antennas just like the one I had. I guess they don't realized that a crewcab needs a longer cable.
