Personal note- we live 25 miles N Houston proper, near Spring.

First, we are ok.
Second, we have minor flooding. Mostly to flooring. Spent yesterday n today ripping ou carpets n laminates. More laminates tomorrow.
Third - we may cut some bottom sheetrock that did get wet. Compared to our nebs in back of subdivision, water up to their ceiling.

Our home on a hill, higher than they. Lived here 29 yrs witnessed 3 other flooded here. Sad. But this Harvey monster finally got us. We are not in flood plan, yet got wet his time. No flood insurance. It's either my nickel or FEMA.

As for our trailer called storage facility, they say no water. Owner says never water there in spite deplorable weather.

For all others impacted by this monster storm, God bless.

Thanks, all.
Dee n Bob Hill and few Amy quilt friends going to help today.

One gal brought bunch finger food yesterday and took car load fabric to her place to wash n dry, that was near floor, wet. Bless her, for the food, really need that.

I not much help. Those who were at Tx Rally may recall my back issue. After rally, MRI and 3 lower back disc messed up. I go do lil bit, then need rest. Luck with my 2 sons, and another, they able to get wet carpets and most laminates out of this house. They rip, put in wheel barrow, imroo n dump curbside. Have more laminates to do today. At least they not hold water, like the carpet n pads do.

Drying out whatever today n next few days.

Unlike us, Son in Vidor, Tx had to walk 2 miles waist deep to get assistance. House has nearly 3 ft water, and will have to be gutted. He spent nite in house, water. Could not get help to evacuate. No flood insurance. Claim put in with FEMA. Fearing for him.

Hoping that all our OR/HR friends healthy and in good spirits. And any in S Texas able to keep homes n trailers in good shape. People down here need help, lots. Tx football player JJ Watts put call to friends, raise $8.8m. Good deeds!

So sorry Mickey that yall are dealing with this post- Harvey! However, yall didn't have a total loss and that's great! My heart hurts for all affected by Harvey. We know all too well how devastating these storms can be and we got around 19 inches of rain in DeRidder, but we are high on a hill and don't have to worry about flooding! We are still in Shippy as we had warranty work done yesterday and decided to stay here thru the weekend......Harvey is headed in this direction (where we would be driving home) so Rick decided we would stay put until after the Labor Day Holiday......doesn't hurt my feelings! LOL! Good Luck and may God Bless SE Texas and SW Louisiana!
