Hi fella campers. I don't normally do this, but desperate measures calls for desperate assistance. If I am out of place here, then ignore this.

My son family lives in Vidor, Tx, and his home hard hit by the flood of Harvey. He is an Iraqi War vet, two tours. Two babes in family. Works as diesel mechanic and now mgr at Riley Trucking co. He brought this home property last year, did renovations with what little monies he and wife had.

And now Harvey wiped it out. No flood insurance, not flood zone. 3 ft water inside. House has to be gutted. His primary vehicle to haul the babes hit too. Lucky, has a old truck that survived.

Calling for assistance to help him. Really lives, gets by check to check. If anyone willing....here's how:

"Friends, my sister, Peggy Daigle Harris, has gone to amazing lengths to help my son, Neil Cotham and his family with their flooded house. They don't have flood insurance and their one story house had 3+ feet of water. If you want to help a flood victim directly, read her post .

"From Peggy - We need monetary donations now. You can PM me for how to do it or text me at 985-373-9245. I have a PayPal account and a Venmo account. Venmo is actually pretty good, no fees and I get it immediately. I'll be coming in HOT with cash in hand for our kids."

They have a generator, cleaning supplies, trash supplies, bottled water, and a load of other things. If you want to donate, please get in contact with her. This is phase one. We need to stay with this little family till they're back on their feet. Thanks to anyone who could donate."

FYI, Peggy email is peggydaigle@bellsouth.net.

Lots folks flooded, having to gut their homes, not to mention being displaced. Of course if extend hand of charity, can send donation to the charity of your choice too.

Demolition of interior is foremost priority to get wetness out, stop mold. Son now standing on dry ground by himself, and needs others to help gutting his house. He will have to go to work, to support his family.

If anyone could assist - a big Thank you.

PS we had water in our home too, but from what we could see, maybe <1 inch. All flooring ripped out, drywall cut at 2 ft line. No flood insurance for us too, cause we not in a flood zone. But we're better financial shape than our son. Out of our love to our sons, I would be willing to unload our 2017 LF318 to give son help he surely needs.

If you could, please help. $5, 10, 20 bucks?

This has been one hell of a storm.

HE has done that. Us too!

Immediate concern is to get house gutted, an treated. Mold building. Need bodies to demo it.
Alternative is ifvavfewvdollars, can hire contractor to do the chore. They trying desperately for charity group to come in, help demolish.

Not having much luck......

Thanks, Rigdon.
I keep eye on sons progress with demolitions. Will let you know if need help.

Curtis Gibson lives in Woodville, just N of son home. Curtis offered to help, starting Wednesday. I'm sure son has to work, mgr of Riley Trucking co. I don't know his plans - work or gut the house.

Mickey, I sent a donation to your sisiter's phone number above using PayPal. PayPal showed the account name as Dames de Perlage LLC. Will the donations reach your son's family?

Note to others - contributions needed. So if anyone could assist, sincerely appreciated.

To those that contributed, a big shout out, and thank you for contribution.

Wednesday wife and I, as well as Curtis Gibson, drove to Vidor to help. We managed to rip out all drywall to 4 ft level, and pull panels from the den. Hard work, but got it done. Blessed with cool, dry air.

Power went out, so we hurried to get that "donated" generator cranked up so we could keep power tools going.

Will return Saturday, I and Neil's 2 brothers to do more. Like take out bathrooms.

Was advise a church group will come to help. So glad.

Here's to say, give a BIG thank you to those who contributed to help my son Neil and family.

The current tally is substantial!

Helping Neil past Saturday, I was amazed over Joni n Neil's spirit. Instead of crying over their misfortune and losses, they say it's gonna be ok, we will rebuild, with a smile. These are tough, hard working kids taking it, looking on bright side.

Being a large contributor list, doubt Neil could personally thank each of you. So Amy asked me to do this for Joni and Neil in a general way.

Thank you!
------------------------

Contributions still needed. So if willing....PayPal via peggydaigle@bellsouth.net. Or make check out to Neil Cotham, mail to me, 1110 Baltic Ln, Houston, Tx 77090.

Pray for those impacted by Irma.

Thank you, Bill.
Have a great day.

I'm still on my house, drilling holes in cabinets to spray Microban anti mold solution in bottom void space. May not be mold there, but preventive means here.
