Going to be at the factory for a day in a couple of weeks. I am on the fence about whether or not my dogs will be attending. Should they be riding along, any suggestions as to what we can do for as long as HR has the rig? Should be no more than six hours, but that's a lot when all I have is my truck to hang in.

Anyone know if Bontragers Surplus allows dogs? That would eat up a few hours.

Thanks.

Don't know about Bontragers but when we have ours with us we just keep them in the truck and take them out every so often to stretch their legs and do their business.Dave

There is an off-leash dog park in Goshen but they charge $25/yr. Maybe if you ask for forgiveness they'll let you slide. Perhaps they wont even notice you are there. Could be you all just take a nap in the truck. You could run over to the fairgrounds, site of next years CHR. Lots of wide open spaces to be sure.

We took our little dog on an Amish buggy ride one time when our rig was in the service center for a few hours. She did great. We walked her around downtown Shipshewana and she was welcome in most shops. The suggestion of the fairgrounds was a good idea. Lots of room there to walk them and places to sit and rest.

They do have a nice waiting room that dogs are allowed in. If you decide to grab a bite to eat, it should be cool enough to leave the dogs in the truck without any issues.
Rise N Roll has outside tables that Hickory has sat along side of while we enjoyed an ice cream donut. They are to die for!! Donut filled with soft ice cream instead of custard. They also have a lunch menu.

The "Bread Box" downtown has a lovely outside porch where we ate with the dog.

x2 on Bread Box. Hickory visited there as well. It's in downtown Shippy.

I took my dog when my OR was serviced at the Jayco Service Center. Here is a couple of things I learned.

1. They actually allow dogs into the service center waiting room.
2. They have a nice dog area just to the west of the Jayco Service Center right next to the Precept Service Area.
3. Same place has a fenced in area, grassy area and shaded area where I parked my truck next to. We all and me took a nice nap.
4. There are many dog friendly restaurants in the area. Do a search on the internet.
5. There are a lot of dog friendly parks in Elkhart for long walks.
6. If your dog is leash friendly take them for a walk in downtown Goshen.
